Maya, I want to potty like Tomas!
I want to be big so I can do fun things!

Just blowing off some steam.

About 6 months ago, the city added a new children's jungle gym play system to the baseball fields across the street from my home. Maya and Tomas-in heaven! It came with 4 enormous shades to keep the kids from melting in the scorching heat as well as picnic tables for us mommies and daddies. It was already a nice park but this was the cherry on the sundae. My problem you ask? Our park is nestled between 2 also recently built baseball fields. No biggie, on a BUSY weekend you might see kids playing t-ball, softball, baseball and little brothers and sisters enjoying the jungle gym as well as eating hot dogs or ice cream from the new concession stand. Well, here's my issue. Why is the park closed when the fields are closed? It's not a part of the baseball fields. It is independent and freestanding. What's the point? This is a public park. I have a tax bill that leads me to believe that I single handedly paid for the system myself.(I'll discuss taxes later.) I feel like I need to say what gives?? I

Did I mention Tomas and Maya love it when we walk over and play.

All in a day?

I wish it was as easy as 1-2-3 but keeping house, running after kids, cooking meals and spending time with the handsome husband is hard work. I don't know how to squeeze all of those things into a day. Any advice??

Fun at the Fountain

Well, we knew it might be too good to be true. Free, safe, relaxing children's entertainment. I was so excited to find out that our new outdoor mall had a dancing water fountain for small children to play in. It was even surrounded by comfy rocking chairs, picnic tables with shade umbrellas and an American Cookie Factory to boot. We have been regulars there for the last 5 weeks. But last Thursday they turned off the water and said they were going to do work and it has been almost a week. Yes, another day went by and our dancing fountain (Uptown Village) is still being "worked on".

Our Motto: If you can walk, you can work!

Remember the rain we got about a month ago? They didnt say it was a tornado but, the 50 year old tree that fell over might dispute that! We had leaves and all kinds of baby tree branches in our driveway. Well, while we were sweeping that up the kids were cleaning up the stuff that blew into the bed of Daddy's truck.

Summer Fun

Time to relax!!! The school year finally ended, YES going from 187 to 216 was harder than expected but I managed. Maya and Tomas are loving the fact that they get to go to McDonalds in the mornings and spend the day with mom!
